Concrete grade - How do we choose diamond tools for a concrete?

Updated: Dec 16, 2020

Concrete grade (concrete class)

an indicator that characterizes its strength. The parameters of tool’s operational capacity directly depend on the strength of concrete. With increasing concrete strength the productivity and cutting speed of the tool decrease, but the lifetime increases. Knowing which type of structure needs to be cut we can approximate the concrete class and choose the right tool for this structure.

During construction it is often necessary to perform the cutting of green concrete. These are important technical operations of cutting compensating thermal joints for assigning direction for cracking. Depending on the hardening time of concrete from time of its pouring, the concrete has different hardness (see table).

The hardness of concrete greatly affects the cutting speed of the tool, and primarily its lifetime. It is necessary to consider this information while using the tools.
